Scenes of an Adult Nature

The London Short Film Festival 2012 opens this weekend, so we thought we would share some of the film title and motion design work we did for Scenes of an Adult Nature – a short film that is screening at this years LSFF.

Directed and produced by Darwin Shaw and Samantha Whittaker, the film follows married couple Rose (Alex Childs) and Tom (John Hopkins) through a rocky evening while an earthquake shakes London.

The films title plays on the word nature, reflecting both the physical and emotional content of the film. We therefore created an unravelling motion with the text, which is intended to echo the delicacy of human nature.

In contrast, the word ‘Adult’ is abruptly punched out and punctuated with a flash of skin, implying confrontation and censorship and giving a hint to the cause of the couple’s problem.

You can catch Scenes of an Adult Nature screening in the ‘Fucked Up Love‘ program this Saturday 7th Jan at Curzon Soho as part of the London Short Film Festival 2012. You can buy tickets via the Curzon website here.
