The London Short Film Festival 2012 opens this weekend, so we thought we would share some of the film title and motion design work we did for Scenes of an Adult Nature – a short film that is screening at this years LSFF.
Directed and produced by Darwin Shaw and Samantha Whittaker, the film follows married couple Rose (Alex Childs) and Tom (John Hopkins) through a rocky evening while an earthquake shakes London.
The films title plays on the word nature, reflecting both the physical and emotional content of the film. We therefore created an unravelling motion with the text, which is intended to echo the delicacy of human nature.
In contrast, the word ‘Adult’ is abruptly punched out and punctuated with a flash of skin, implying confrontation and censorship and giving a hint to the cause of the couple’s problem.
You can catch Scenes of an Adult Nature screening in the ‘Fucked Up Love‘ program this Saturday 7th Jan at Curzon Soho as part of the London Short Film Festival 2012. You can buy tickets via the Curzon website here.

Towards the end of 2011 we worked with Hartswood Films on their already multi-award winning and BAFTA scooping BBC hit TV drama Sherlock starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr Watson and written by the great Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.
For Sherlock series 2 we were asked to create a handful of motion graphics and animated elements for both the first episode ‘A Scandal in Belgravia’ and the third episode. These involved some 3D modelling, animation, illustration, graphic design, interface design, live action and even a bit of jewellery making.
For episode 1 ‘A Scandal in Belgravia’, we created a 3D visualisation for one of Sherlock’s problem-solving thought processes. This required making an x-ray style 3D model of a Boeing 747 which peels back to reveal a coded seating plan.
We also created a set of icons to be used in a mobile phone graphic sequence.
Check out some of our work for Episode 3 ‘The Reichenbach Fall’ here. A full case study will follow in a few weeks and be displayed in the TV and Film section of our main website www.pleasefindattached.tv so watch this space.

After months of hard work, development and fine tuning, LifePlanner’s unique financial life planning dossier has been unveiled. Offering individuals a compact, comprehensive means of bringing order to their financial life, the dossier will put an end to wading through paperwork for lost information, as your life will literally be ‘at your fingertips’.
We were involved from the outset to assist with branding the company and designing the various components of the product. The LifePlanner dossier will be retailed through legal firms and then stored securely once complete, so the branding and product design needed to be strong, safe and robust both visually and physically.
To find out more see the case study here on our website.
